Hill stations were mostly set up in India by the British to get a respite from the heat and humidity of the low-lying areas of the country. These hill stations have now transformed into popular vacationing spots where travellers from within as well as outside the country come.

Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Kullu Manali is the most visited hill station of Himachal Pradesh by the tourist of domestic as well as international according to the statistics of Himachal government . Situated at an altitude of around 6000 ft, this beautiful region of Himachal Pradesh is also known as the marks of gateway to the mountains of Himalaya. The region of Kullu Manali is famous for its pine forests, temples and majestic hills.

Ooty, Tamil Nadu
The best hill station in South India and one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in India.  The many tourist places in Ooty include mesmerizing natural sights, watch points, museums and well manicured gardens. Visits to Avalanche Lake, Botanical Garden, Kalhatty Falls and Dolphin’s Nose etc. are counted among the top sightseeing activities in Ooty. Some other popular attractions in Ooty include the Wax World, Deer Park, Tea Museum and Emerald Lake.

Mussoorie, Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand’s popular hill station, Mussoorie has been acclaimed since the British Era, and was established in 1823. Mussoorie is often termed as “Queen of the Hills”, and this queen has thousands and lakhs of visitors all year round; mainly between September and June. There are many recreational activities like cable car ride, fishing, boating, horse riding, camping, adventure activities and shopping, which could be performed here, without compromising.

Darjeeling, West Bengal
Famous for its large tea estates, Darjeeling has magnificent views of Mount Kanchenjunga, waterfalls, and several hills. The historic Toy Train makes for a memorable ride and the Senchal Lake, Ghoom Monastery, and Observatory Hill are among the most popular tourist attractions of Darjeeling. Make sure you stay in a tea estate and resort to experience Darjeeling’s beauty to the fullest.

Mount Abu, Rajasthan
A haven in the desert kingdom of Rajasthan, Mount Abu with its verdant setting, salubrious weather and various lakes & waterfalls is unlike anywhere else in the state. Perched on the Aravali Hill Range at an altitude of 1164 meters, Mount Abu is home to more than 80 Jain and Hindu temples and shrines with the Jain Temples at Delwara attracting the lion share of tourists. Best time to visit this hill station is September and April as the peak tourist season starts from October to November and again from May to Mid June.
