Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 in India in September 2017 and it has been a bestseller device with excellent sales. This year Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro in India at a price of 9999 and 14999.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X (Mi A2) comes with a 5.99-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio . Just like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Mi 6X (Mi A2) display offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels.
The Mi 6X (Mi A2) comes powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset. It is available in 4GB RAM + 32GB storage. 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variants. Mi A2 will run stock Android without MIUI customisation. Being an Android One smartphone, the Mi A2 will fetch regular security updates. One can expect it to get at least two major OS upgrades, which should include Android P and Android Q.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X (Mi A2) features dual-camera setup at the rear, which is better than the one found on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Mi 6X sports 12MP + 20MP dual-cameras at the rear while the Note 5 Pro settles for a 12MP + 5MP dual-lens setup and 20MP for selfie.
Other features on the phone include AI Smart Beauty 4.0,Soft LED light on the front that helps in capturing selfies in low-light surroundings. Although the Xiaomi Mi 6X sports a 3010mAh battery, the Indian predecessor (Mi A1) came with 3080mAh battery. But we believe the battery is more efficient this time given with the efficient processor Quick Charge 3.0 support.
The Mi A2 is a rebranded version of the Mi 6X with the goodness of Android One. For now, the launch date for the Mi A2 has not been confirmed by Xiaomi but it could unveil the device some time this month.Keeping Xiaomi’s price trends for India in mind, we can expect the 4GB RAM variant of the Mi A2 to be priced at Rs.14,999 and the 6GB RAM variant at Rs.17,999.
